Why join this D/s community?
I get lots of people emailing me with questions about D/s. Whilst I do my best to respond to each of them, I also acknowledge that I don’t know everything and that there’s a wealth of information in the heads’ of my readers.
The Community is a safe space for Doms and subs to come together and talk about D/s and BDSM, and share knowledge together so that we all benefit.
The biggest community in the BDSM space is currently Fetlife.com, but people on there are not vetted, posting on forums is an old-school way of communication and not real-time, and it isn’t just for people into D/s
The Kinky Events Community uses a Discord Server so that you can message people instantly, as well as receive notifications on your phone. Everyone on there has been vetted by the Kinky Events team so you know they are legit, and we will remove anyone who doesn’t abide by our code of conduct.
Our community guidelines
Everyone in the Kinky Events D/s Community agrees to the following guidelines:
What is a Discord Server?
The Kinky Events D/s Community is powered by Discord, an application created for games to chat and play games together.
Since then Discord has begun to be used for non-gamers to voice or message chat, replacing Facebook Groups as a way of creating online communities.
A Discord Server is a space created solely for the purpose of the community. The Kinky Events Discord server is where you will end up if your application is successful.
You can see what it looks like in the image above. To the left are a number of categories such as ‘Submissives Only’ and ‘D/s Dynamics’ beneath which are channels (denoted by the # symbol.).
In the central window, you can see I’m in the #advice-serious channel where I’ve posted a question.
As a member, you’ll be able to click through each channel and post or respond as needed. Each channel has a designated topic making things well organised.
Discord is available as a mobile app, a desktop app, or you can access it via a web browser.
After your application has been approved you’ll receive a link to the Discord server. If you don’t already have a Discord account you’ll be prompted to create one for free.
No personal information is shared on the Discord server – people will only be able to see your username so you remain completely anonymous.
